When
in the early stages of pregnancy, one is still able to fit
into the existing wardrobe. Hence that is not a problem when
looking good and presentable is a concern! It is when we grow
a little more in the middle or else where, in our second and
third trimesters, or when we start having water retention,
that we need to do something about our wardrobe!
Most if not
all of our pieces here are able to last you through your 9
beautiful months of pregnancy but each being an individual,
we have our own tastes and styles and preferences in fashion.
One man’s meat is another’s poison. Styles vary
from one mommy to another. While some may share similar taste
for some outfits, others may defer drastically. At www.moms-rus.com,
we try to meet everyone’s need and taste throughout
the year, by trying to come up with trendy and fashionable
apparel. However, if you have any wonderful ideas and is bursting
to contribute, write to us at feedback@moms-rus.com.
We’d be glad to hear from you to improve our designs
so as to serve you better. |

Saving - Frugality |
|
|
|
For
most of us who are new moms or moms a second or third time
round, we try to save as much as we can for our little one(s).
Frugality is something we think about more often as we enter
motherhood. It is especially so when we decide to quit our
jobs to stay home for our little ones.
Managing expenses
and having only a sole breadwinner in the household means
we need to shop a little wiser and smarter when we want to
add new pieces to our wardrobe to refresh and re-invent our
looks. Other alternatives are tips to use whatever accessories
we have, to make our existing wardrobe look like a new piece!
Hence here
are some tips on what accessories to use and how to dress
creatively to bring out a new look with the existing wardrobe
or with new affordable pieces of clothing that can match with
almost anything. |

Accessories
should complement the look when you are dressed in the apparel
of your choice for the day or night. One should not clutter
or look under dressed and balancing it out is the key to looking
good and chic. |

Scarves,
hair clips and accessories for the mom with long to mid-length
tresses could do wonders if you wear them with the right outfit.
Sometimes braiding the hair could give you the neat look while
at times, just letting it go with a simple hair piece could
accentuate the look. Stand in front of the mirror and ask
yourself if you feel good about a style you’ve created
for yourself. If you are happy, then go with it. I personally
like braiding my hair for practical reasons in this humid
tropical weather! Adding hair pieces like a few matching gem
pieces do wonders for a formal evening and changing the hair
pieces to scrunchies and tiny claw clips transforms the same
look for a casual or day party!

Around
the neck… |
|
|
|
Chokers,
necklaces and long beaded ones are really fun to play around
with, although they may come in the way, when curious tiny
little hands start grasping them for play especially if you
have toddlers and infants in arms!
You’d
be amazed at how by adding the right one to what you wear,
these accessories can make a plain looking top or dress look
stunningly attractive! One tip here is that if you have a
slender and long neck, wearing short necklaces or chokers
will bring attention to your neck, hence flaunting what you
have. However women with short neck or thicker ones, should
avoid those and go for lengthier chains and necklaces as they
“lengthen “the look, thus drawing the eye away
from your “flaw”.
Interestingly,
this “theory” applies to the body shape we have
as well, which you can read up in fashion tips. |

What
goes on the ears |
|

Earrings
help to frame the face. What face shape we have, determines
what looks good on us.
If you have
a round face, squarish face, or a face shape that appears
wide or a huge face, wear lengthy earrings or ones designed
with tear drops or small studs. If you have a sharp and elongated
face or a small face, such earrings will further lengthen
your look which we should avoid. Instead, choose rounded earrings
or huge ones to help “widen” your face.
If you are
a sucker for long earrings because it is in vogue, then try
styling your hair to complement the look – with wide
curls or a fringe will help shorten the face.
One other tip
for a small faced or a huge faced woman, is to balance out
the shape and size of the earring you are wearing. Avoid extremes
and most importantly, be comfortable with your own look.
The women with
the heart-shaped face have the best of both worlds! She can
wear any of the above earrings and look stunningly good! |

What
goes around the waist |

This is
another of my favourite accessory to play with because of
its versatility and belts give a different look each time
you wear it differently.
However, as
an expectant mom, comfort around the belly is top priority,
so this is a no no until we’re done with our labour
of love! You can get some tips though from fashion tips. |

wear |

I advise
all expectant moms to wear falt or heels not more than 1.5
inches. Also choose even heels as the higher the heels are,
the more stress you are placing on your spine! Already having
a rounded belly and extra weight to carry, we should not place
further stress on our bodies hence wearing mules, flats or
sandals are the best! |

Being
comfortable with yourself |
|
| |
|
Being plain
and simple can be beautiful! Sassing up the plain can also
be exciting and refreshing. What I am getting at is that one
should be comfortable with how you look. Accept how you are
and what you are going to look like with impending motherhood.
Pregnant women
should look radiant and prosperous so let it come on! Dress
right to make yourself the most important and most beautiful
woman in your husband’s eyes!

A

I personally
like to keep a few tops that are easy to match for both formal
and casual looks and a few classic stretch pants and capris.
Colours also affect the mood and look!

I keep a variety
of sleeveless tops, short sleeved tops and long ones for cooler
days. Having tops with a variety of necklines help add interest
to my basic pieces as well. For mixing and matching purposes,
I have a few stretch pants with easy to match colours like
khaki, beige, brown and black. I usually choose pants with
adjustable straps so they last me the 9 months and beyond
when I need something to wear while making the transition
back to my original physical state.
Then I have
dresses for day wear and only one classic piece for formal
night wear. Choose these wisely as they can also be worn after
you give birth with the not yet flattened tummy. I personally
like dresses with smocking or those that come with tie backs
as they have greater versatility with fit and comfort. |
