Vegetable kebab

Ingredients:

1.
1 stalk celery

2.
1 red or yellow capsicum

3.
1 medium sized carrot

4.
1 medium sized tomato

5.
1 small broccoli sprout

Method :

1.
Wash and cut all vegetables into bite size for your toddler ( 2-5 years old )

2.
Steam them or boil them till soft ( approximate time – 15 mins )

3.
Skewer the varied pieces with a satay stick ( available from NTUC )

4.
Add salt to taste or oyster sauce with a dash of sesame seed oil if desired.

Note : This dish is not only fun and healthy to eat, it can be an activity to do with your child to teach sequencing or colours. If your toddler is able to skewer the vegetables on her own, let them follow the sequence from a stick you’ve made. Alternatively, you can also let them do a stick on their own as it gives them a freedom of choice and hence some level of control over what they want to eat. This is one way to cajole your child to eat some greens by making it fun!
